The washing of cars and other vehicles on driveways and in parking lots can have a negative impact on the environment because the untreated wash water is discharged directly to the ground or into lakes or streams through the storm sewer system.

The discharge of the untreated wash water and oil waste products to the ground or the surface waters through the storm sewer system is prohibited by North Carolina statutes.

Charity Car Wash Program Policies

  • Must be a nonprofit organization and you must provide a current Federal Tax ID Number and documentation.
  • Organization Chairperson must fill out an application and return it to Vanessa Deering. All information, including address and two phone numbers, must be supplied. The Chairperson will be responsible for the cards. All applications are subject to approval.
  • Organizations will sell TLC Autowash & Fast Lube $10.00 Charity Card.
  • Organizations will keep $5.00 per card sold and will return $5.00 to TLC Autowash & Fast Lube. All cards must be paid for or returned by the date on the contract.
  • Organizations are permitted to sell up to 100 cards with an approved contract.
  • Organizations have 31 days to complete the fundraiser.
  • Organizations may sell additional cards within the 31-day contract period only after payment in full of the original cards. Additional time will not be added to a contract.
  • Organizations are allowed to participate in the Charity Car Wash Program one time per year.
